Around 1997, Reliance was already making varied textiles, yarns, chemicals and more in Gujarat’s Jamnagar.
And the Pollution Control Board had observed a consistent and considerable rise in air and water pollution levels in the region
Plus, Reliance was also about to commission its integrated refinery & petrochem complex in 1999. Thus, the pollution problems were going to worsen.
And that’s where came a genius idea!
