Shifting Gear

Life is like a car, with gears that we shift

Each change a chance for a positive lift

From first to second, we learn and we grow

Our horizons expanding with each ebb and flow

Third gear approaches, more challenges ahead

But with each one conquered, we stand tall instead

Fourth gear is smoother, we find our groove

Navigating life’s roads, with nothing to prove

Fifth gear is freedom, we soar with delight

The wind in our hair, everything in sight

But as life would have it, we come to a stop

Time to downshift, to take stock and re-cop

But don’t fear the downshift, it’s a chance to renew

To recharge our engines, and start anew

For life’s a journey, with many roads to travel

And shifting gears is essential, to unravel and unravel.
