In a big and busy city, there lived two boys with very different lives.Akash, the son of a wealthy businessman, had everything money could buy—luxury toys, fancy clothes, and a bungalow. On the other side of the city was Adarsh, the son of a carpenter. Adarsh’s world was simple, filled with little means, modest meals, and a small but loving home.
One day, their paths crossed at a park where Akash’s nanny had taken him to play. Akash was busy riding his shiny new toy bike when he noticed Adarsh sitting under a tree, carving a small wooden toy.He went there to see what the boy was carving.
“What are you doing?” Akash asked, looking at the wooden figure.
“I’m making a toy for my little brother,”Adarsh replied, smiling. “We can’t buy toys, so I make them myself.”
Akash was confused. He couldn’t imagine a life without store-bought toys. “Why don’t you just ask your parents to buy you one?”
Adarsh replied. “We don’t have much money, but it’s okay. Making toys is fun, and my brother loves them more because they’re made with love.”
Akash felt a sense of guilt. His room was full with toys he barely touched, while Adarsh and his brother cherished the simplest things.
That night, Akash couldn’t sleep. He kept thinking about Adarsh and the toy he had been carving. The next morning, Akash had an idea. He gathered some of his best toys and carefully packed them into a large box.
With his parents’ permission, Akash went back to the park, hoping to find Aadarsh. He didn’t have to wait long. Adarsh was there again. He was sketching something on a piece of paper.
“Hi, Adarsh,” Aakash said, approaching him. “I have brought something for you.”
Adarsh’s eyes widened as Akash opened the box to show the toys. “Are these… for me?” he asked.
Akash replied. “I have more than I need, and I think you’ll enjoy these more than I do.”
Adarsh’s face lit up with gratitude. “Thank you! But wait—” He handed Akash the wooden toy he had finished carving. “I want you to have this. It’s not much, but it’s made with care.”
Akash took the toy, touched by the gesture. He realized that wealth wasn’t just about money; it was about sharing what we have with others. From that day on, Akash and Adarsh became best friends, learning from each other and bridging the gap between their worlds.
Their friendship became an example to the fact that true richness lies in the heart, not in the wallet.
