Hello friends,
Recently,I got an opportunity to visit “VARANASI “,also referred to as Kashi or Banaras.I was mesmerized to see the magical city and thought of sharing my experience with you.It can’t be explained in few words ats it is beyond any explanation.But I will try my best to define its significance and beauty in the first part and about my trip to the glorious city in another part.
Varanasi, situated on the banks of holy river Ganges,is considered to be one of the oldest inhabited towns in the world and has great religious value for Hindus.
IMPORTANCE
SPIRITUAL HUB- Varanasi is regarded as India’s spiritual hub.Hindus believe that passing away and being burnt here,breaks the cycle of reincarnation.
CULTURAL HERITAGE – The city has been a hub of education since ages.Renowned painters, musicians and philosophers have sprung from it.
RELIGIOUS SIGNIFICANCE – There are numerous temples,ghats and ashrams in varanasi.It is a place where people come to seek enlightenment and connect with their faith.
HISTORICAL IMPORTANCE – The city has a rich tapestry of historical monuments and beautiful architecture.Do take your time and visit all these places.
GHATS- The ghats along the Ganges are the soul of Varanasi.They are not just places of religious significance but also offer stunning views of sunrise and sunset.The water of Ganga are believed to have cleansing property and bathing in it is considered sacred.
ARCHITECTURE -Varanasi holds a blend of ancient and modern architecture.From intricate carvings on temples to the colonial era buildings, the city offers a visual delight.
VIBRANT LIFE- Narrow lanes, crowded markets and flow of devotees create a unique atmosphere.Ringing of bells and chanting mantras contribute to the glory of the city.
