In a small village of Benin, down the south of the country lives an old woman called “young mummy”. As the name highlights, she is an elderly woman but still looks like someone in her thirties. Known to be a strong and hardworking woman, everyone that hears her age doubts it. Being a widow, young mummy lives in a small room with her only treasure, her daughter named Adaeze.Â
Adaeze seems to have inherited the power and strength that her mother carries. She is an iron that can not be broken. Adaeze is approaching 15 years old but her smart and wise brain make her reason as an old woman. She always makes a difference among her mates in school and in the village.Â
One day, as she came back from school, she found her mother lying down and grooming in serious pain. They didn’t have enough time to make some herbal tea before young mummy died. Adaeze was heart broken and devastated by her loss. Yet, as being taught by her mother, she didn’t waste time mourning her mother but started thinking about how she could make herself a living without begging the villagers.Â
She started working for people in their farms and houses during weekends and would also sell some pure water sachets un the market. By the end of the day, she was able to build a system to satisfy her needs and still be schooling. Many people were proud as Adaeze graduated as an economist and later met a rich young man who loved and married her.Â
