We all must know which is the most commanding tool that we have at our disposal when it comes to persuading people. It is to be practised and needs to be refined, the tactic over the years to achieve the desired goals and objectives, with the finest performance for attaining top-class accomplishments.
Influence is a critical phenomenon and a remarkable development that one has to pursue for excellence. The sooner it can get aligned with the public and start building some visibility, the better our chances at building and becoming a successful influencer. Demonstrating influence and reach is tough despite all of the tools that are available. The best way to influence others and expand our reach starts with one elementary piece.
What is being referred to is to have personal clarity, or a better way of putting it is to know what someone stands for. When it comes to gaining clarity, unfortunately, it is not a matter of a light switch being turned on and no longer being in the dark. Gaining clarity is more like a slow descent out of a dark cave. Every step gets us closer to being in the light. Basically, when we are not very mindful of what we are saying or wanting to say, and our words just dribble out or are infused with fear or charged with negative emotions. In such cases, there are chances that the people we are speaking to take no notice or are not really captivated by our words or what we are saying. It is for sure that we have all experienced times when we have spoken to someone only to feel ignored or overlooked.
We will have to gain this influence for two reasons. The first reason is obviously that we will be able to more confidently articulate what it is that we are looking to do in the world and what we stand for. Because of the scarcity of confidence in our lives, people tend to be really impressed by the presence of a confident individual. They will remember us because of it. The second reason has to do with our self-esteem. When we have more knowledge of who we are, we stop worrying so much about, who we are not. This translates to confidence as well and also allows us to have meaningful conversations with people without having to prove ourselves to them with our words. Better connections with people equal a more fundamental impact on those we connect with. When we are clear and lovingly intentional in what we choose to say, our words are more accepted and received more easily.
To get us on the right path towards that clarity light, we must have daily discipline and practice that allows us to discover more about ourselves and get a better understanding of what we stand for. This doesn’t mean that discovery is impossible; it just means that we have to be more intentional with our behaviours. The good thing is that a little bit of understanding of what we stand for will put us ahead of most people, who just live their lives hoping that this knowledge will fall into their lap one day. Once we have attained a greater knowledge of what we stand for, we will be more influential in the conversations that we have with others.
It is not suggested that we spend hours or minutes thinking about what we are going to communicate each and every time that we speak. However, if we practice that approach, through a heartfelt connection to our words, over time our words and how we speak will become more powerful and more lovingly creative. Others to whom we communicate will both receive our words and respond more lovingly. If we want to expand our reach and be more influential then we need to start by knowing and understanding what it is that you stand for. Communication builds bridges, mends wounds, heals relationships and sets us in the right direction. It is the most wonderful aspect of our lives and when used with loving intent can create miracles.
