We are going to Lisse from Amsterdam. Only half an hour drive. The driver played a small role and continued the documentary on the big screen. A bus full of people are shaking from the early morning laziness. After watching the documentary, I found out that the Keukenhof Gardens in Liszt is the world’s largest bulb-like flower garden (32 hectares). 7 million flowers bloom at Keukenhof every year. 800 varieties of tulip gardens are lit up in it. There are other bulb plants in the garden; Like daffodil, hyacinth, lily, crocus. I have seen these flowers in our country. The garden is open for eight weeks from March to May. So many arrangements for just a few days!
I got the answer by going to the garden. I will come to that later. Beyond the city, the bus runs through the village. The external landscape has changed. The morning is breaking, a sheet of soft light is spread over the fields. The girl from the travel agency said, “The time for tulips is over. Now it’s time for flowers to fall. Farmers cut flowers at this time. Otherwise, the plant bulbs under the soil will not grow properly. Next year they will select and plant only the best bulbs.” Seeing the brown field along the original horizon, I realized that the tulips had been pruned.
