I am science teacher in government school. When I demonstrate science experiment in class my main emphasis is on great power of skill ie #observation .
Preparation of oxygen in lab is wonderful experiment. Potassium permagante is heated in presence of manganese oxide. And oxygen is collected in gas jar through water displacement.
I ask students for observation
What is color of #potassium permanganate.(answer- dark purple in colour)
Why is #oxygen collected trough water displacement (answer- oxygen is insoluble in water)
I make it compulsory for every student to wear eye #protection while performing this experiment.
2nd observation I share with my
students is
When you do not practice higher maths there is #higher chance you get confused my students.Therefore do practice maths everyday without fail.
3rd observation I share with primary level kids
Nature also shows observation yellow #leaves falls new leaves come out. Raw fruit ripens with time and changes colour also.
4th observation I share with my secondary level kids.When some food #decays one get foul smell
Another skill which I want my student to concentrate on is power of deep diving
#Deep diving skill
I always tell my students “I have observed many times students think by telling lie to their friends about their actual marks they can show other friends they are superior. But deep #diving they will soon realise with time that being dishonest with themselves they are disturbing their soul. Fact is that any way #truth will come out in open.One can’t hide it any more.”
Deep diving power skill is used by police #officers.They cross examine each case of crime through many angles.For each angle they dive deep to earth to find truth of happening.While delving deeply into topics can be time-consuming and challenging, it is undoubtedly a key to success.
Power of connecting the #dots:
When I learnt making vegetable rice, my mother instructed me to put turmeric along with rice while cooking them. But for cooking lemon rice my mother instructed me first boil rice separately.Then in those rice put turmeric and lemon,on mixing two, later on the bright #golden yellow colour will appear. I observed in preparing lemon rice yellow colour appeared is golden yellow, is different than colour yellow of vegetable rice.These two observation got stuck into my mind.Why colour of two types of rice is different. I connected the dots through previous rice cooking experience. When lemon juice is added to turmeric, a chemical #reaction occurs that changes the color of the turmeric from dirty yellow to yellow-gold: I found following Explanation

Moral – observation, connecting dots and deep diving are three important skills students should concentrate.
