The Emerald Isles, a chain of islands rich in natural resources, were claimed by two nations for centuries. Skirmishes grew into all-out war ravaging the land and its people.
This was the woman, Nia-an ordinary fisherwoman-who discovered ancient documents that proved the isles were once an independent nation. Freedom from bondage was what Nia wanted. Nia got the islanders together and led them in an agitating peaceful movement for freedom.
Nia’s movement went beyond the initial disinterest it met with. With international support, the war was finally taken into account, and a treaty signed for the independence of the isles. Nia, first president of the isles, could prove that peace achieves that which war could not-do.
