    Who is Lord Shiva?

Lord Shiva is one of the primary lords in Hinduism. According to seers, lord Shiva lives in the highest dimension behind the parameters of physical and immaterial reality. Hinduism’s real name is Sanatan Dharma, with Lord Shiva being the supreme consciousness.

The term Shiva (शिव) refers to the great god, the kind, benevolent, and auspicious almighty. Because of his simplicity and kindness, devotees call him Bholenath.

There are various facts and stories related to Lord Shiva that define why Shiva is most loved as well as also the most exquisite Lord.

    Understanding Shiva

In his physical reality, lord Shiva is the primary form of divinity, incredibly the most powerful; regarded as the Supreme Being and absolute consciousness. Everything happens in Shiva’s wish.

Lord Shiva has many names like Shankar, Shambho, Mahadev, etc.

Each name has a metaphysical value attached to it. Most importantly, Shiva is eternal, omniscient and there is no father of Lord Shiva. He is unborn and self-manifested.

According to Shiv Mahima Stotra verse -2

The greatness of Lord Shiva is beyond the reach of mind and speech.

Nobody has the skills to express the qualities of Lord Shiva through profound feelings or by words. In your regard, even Vedas are astonished and confused about how to define you.

It is impossible to know your entire glory in a limited life. Whenever you manifest yourself in a form, your devotees get hypnotized by your appearance.

They cannot stop themselves without praising your manifestation.

    What is Shaivism?

Shiva, as Adideva, is the source from which all knowledge and entities emerge and to which everything ultimately returns.

Devotees of Shiva are called Saivas, and that is a beautiful aspect of Sanatan Dharma, which is called Shaivism.

Let us understand the physical form of lord Shiva.

    1- Matted hairs –

Shiva’s long matted hair represents humans’ endless desires. Shiva coils his hair, which means human must control their material appetites.

2- River Ganga on the head of Lord Shiva –

River Ganga flow represents the continuous flow of knowledge.

    3 – Moon on the forehead –

A man must be calm, focused, and rational, with an analytical approach.

    4 – Third eye

Shiva’s third eye represents inner consciousness and social awareness.

    5- Bhasma

Bhasma states that don’t get too attached to the materialistic world. It is destroyable. We are here in this world to perform our karma without getting attached to the outcomes of our actions. Work selflessly for the betterment of the world. It is the only thing that will remain in the end.

    6 – Trident

The trident of Shiva represents standing against evil and darkness. It empowers the person to live a fearless life and follow the path of righteousness.

    Shiva, the Lord of Yogis

Lord Shiva is the first yogi of the cosmos; known as Yogeshwar or Adiyogi. He educated the primary sages of Sanatan dharma from where Yoga spread to the world.

Therefore, the term yoga has a deep connection with the Shiva. Several thousands of years ago, with extraordinary capabilities, Shiva first appeared on one of the Himalayas Mountains known as Mount Kailash.

Shiva, as Adiyogi, shared this spiritual knowledge with his seven chief disciples, called Saptarishis.

These seven sages carried the information to the broader segment of humanity, which is the basis of our cultural existence today.

The primary concept remained unchanged as the information spread through different religions and cultures.

Anyone aspiring to master yoga globally dreams of going to India for a transformative experience. Kashi, Kedarnath, and Rishikesh are some of the major attraction places for such people.

These locations are known for their high energy, where sincere devotees and yoga practitioners can connect with the energy of Lord Shiva.

The idea was humans can extend beyond the current dimension of the existence and attain a higher state to get merged into Shiva.

Mediation is an easy way to connect with your inner Shiva element. There is a process that allows people to do that; It comes under Yoga. It is the highest level of Yoga that comes in the category of Shiv yoga.

At the highest level, Shiva is formless and worshipped as Lingam. Lingam is a highly sacred symbol of lord Shiva.

Indeed, Lord Shiva holds the seed of the universe, with the lingam symbolizing the beginning, also known as Hiranyagarbha.

It has tremendous energy and contains both feminine and manly segments within it. The male segment is Shiva and the female segment is the goddess Shakti. Their flux denotes that Shiva and Shakti coexist as one supreme entity and there will be no Shiva without Shakti.

That is the primary form of the Shiva lingam, from where everything originates. In our micro autonomic reality, Shiva is the source of the thread-like genetic structure.

Meanwhile, on the cellular base, it is equivalent to the genetic code of life. The snake around the Lingam represented a DNA helical structure.

Carrying an extreme amount of energy; it is attached to our energy channel. There are 72000 such energy channels in our body.

Ida and Pingala are the two energy channels responsible for carrying that energy in each cell which finally gets merged into the Sushma Channel.

Lingam contains Lord Brahma at the base, Vishnu in the central part, and Shiva in the uppermost section. Meanwhile, Goddess Shakti resides within Shiva.

At the atomic level, Shiva operates as the nucleus, whereas Vishnu operates as the proton and Brahma operates as the electron.

Electron and proton are tied to each other through bonds Renuka; whereas Shiva is free and dispassionate about materialistic activity, inside and outside the atomic substance.

Hence, Shiva lives in the highest dimension and Shakti does the energy dance around Shiva. It is the dance of creation and the dance of destruction.

One day of Lord Vishnu is the complete life of Lord Brahma, whereas the lifetime of Lord Vishnu is one day for Shiva.
