India is going to celebrate 75th republic day on Friday, 26 January 2024.
The Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 and that was considered as the first republic day. So this is 75th republic day not 74th.
After becoming an independent country on 15 Aug 1947 India need constitution which was an important factor.
26 January 1950 was the date on which constitution of India came into effect and from that time we celebrate republic day on 26 January every year.
