I once found myself doubting whether I could give my all to a new job after a difficult experience in my previous role. My last position started well, with clearly defined responsibilities. Despite these challenges, I chose to stay, not because I was gaining much from the job or because better opportunities were lacking, but because I wanted to ensure that I was not part of the disorder or friction; I wanted to leave knowing that I had upheld my integrity and work ethics.
Eventually, a better opportunity came, offering improved pay and a fresh start. Yet, as I stepped into this new role, I couldn't shake the fear that history might repeat itself. Would my efforts be undervalued again, even if I went the extra mile to please my client?
But then, I reminded myself of a fundamental truth: whatever is worth doing is worth doing well. I assured myself that excellence should never be conditional. It should not be dependent on how we are treated or whether recognition follows. Instead, it should be a reflection of our character, our personal brand, and our commitment to growth.
Regardless of my past experiences, I will choose to give my best always. Not just for recommendations or rewards, but because excellence is a habit, and true success lies in knowing that I have done my part, no matter the outcome.
