Hey friends ,

Here again I am with a short description about my two day trip to Varanasi. Here I will try to explain you about the famous places, monuments and of course the mouth watering food available at almost each and every corner of the city

It is a city steeped in spirituality, culture, and history, attracting millions of pilgrims and tourists every year.I, with my family, reached there by train at five in the morning, took a cab and reached the hotel .The booking was already done before. The fresh air was enough to make us energetic and the aura of the city was like I had never felt before. After having tea ,and getting fresh,we rushed towards the “Kashi Vishwanath temple” .It is one of the twelve jyotirlingas and I have a deep faith in Shiva. It took about two hours in the whole process of darshan and pooja. The environment was filled with holiness and chanting of “Har Har Mahadev”.

Now it was time for breakfast and our tour guide took us to the famous point, where we had the iconic breakfast of kachori, sabji and jalebis.Believe me,it was just wow.!.We were tired now ,so we decided to go back to our hotel and have a rest.In the evening,we went to the famous ghats of Varanasi to take part in the iconic ganga aarti. There are steamers, boats etc to take you for a boating, and it was a mesmerizing experience .There are so many ghats and the view was unforgettable.I would like to tell you about some of the important ghats

Ganges Ghats: The most iconic feature of Varanasi is the series of ghats (steps) lining the Ganges River. These ghats are not only places of religious significance but also vibrant social and cultural hubs. The most famous ghats include

Dashashwamedh Ghat: This is the main ghat for evening Ganga Aarti, a mesmerizing ritual where priests offer prayers and light lamps on the river.

Manikarnika Ghat: This ghat is considered one of the holiest places for Hindus to perform last rites for their deceased loved ones.

Assi Ghat: Located at the confluence of the Ganges and Varuna rivers, Assi Ghat is known for its beautiful sunsets and vibrant atmosphere.

Now it was time for “aarti” and we were fortunate to become a part of the aarti,a never to be forgotten experience.

Day 2:

It was now another day in the holy city and we visited the important monuments and places, some of which are explained below:

Sarnath: Located about 10 kilometers from Varanasi, Sarnath is the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. It is a major Buddhist pilgrimage site and houses several ancient stupas and temples.

Ramnagar Fort: This 18th-century fort is located on the other side of the Ganges and offers panoramic views of the city. It houses a museum showcasing the rich history and culture of Varanasi.

Banaras Hindu University (BHU): One of the largest universities in India, BHU is a renowned educational institution and a cultural center. It is home to several museums, libraries, and temples.

After a full day of outing, and having a wonderful lunch , now we were ready ,as it was the time to go back with an unforgettable experience. But wait for a while! Last but not least, the journey description would be incomplete without telling you about the delicacies of Varanasi. There is so much in the list but the most I liked are:-

Kachori Sabzi: A popular breakfast dish consisting of a crispy fried dough filled with spiced potatoes and peas along with super delicious jalebis.

Malaiyo: A sweet dish made with milk, sugar, and cardamom.

Chaat: A variety of savory snacks made with ingredients like chickpeas, potatoes, tamarind chutney, and yogurt and much more

 * Thandai: A refreshing drink made with milk, almonds, pistachios, cardamom, saffron, and rose water.

 * Gulab Jamun: A sweet fried dough soaked in a sugary syrup.

 * Lassi: A thick yogurt drink that can be sweet or savory.

 * Paan: A betel leaf roll filled with various ingredients like areca nut, lime, cardamom, and cloves.

Varanasi is a city that offers a unique and unforgettable experience. It is a place where spirituality, culture, and history come together in a harmonious blend. Whether you are a religious pilgrim, a history buff, or a foodie, Varanasi has something to offer to everyone.
