Time to play as the THIRD HORSEMEN!!!
Darksiders 3 is the upcoming third person hack and slash game. The fans of previous game must be aware of the story and this one takes place just after the events of darksiders 1.Players takes role of a female character “Fury” and she is full of rage and she has a lust for killing.
In this game the SEVEN DEADLY SINS have been released which were restored by all four horsemen in the past but this time war is chained, death is on the mission to prove his brother innocence and first we saw the fourth horsemen “strife” who is gone for some other work so ultimately it is upon us to restore peace.Darksiders III is an action-adventure game. Players take control of Fury, sister of War and Death, two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, from a third-person perspective. Fury, a mage who is described as the most unpredictable and enigmatic of the Four Horsemen, relies on whips, swords, flails, daggers and magic in combat. Fury can take on multiple different elemental forms in order to enhance her combat capabilities by granting her new weapons, attacks and traversal abilities. One of these many forms is a Flame form.
Enemies are stronger than in previous installments, but appear in smaller numbers during encounters, so as to make battles feel more personal. Some enemies from previous games returns, while other foes are new. Gated combat is not a feature, in an attempt to make everything within the setting contextualized and interconnected. The game takes place in a continuous open world environment where exploration plays a large role. While exploring, Fury must solve puzzles and overcome platforming obstacles, some of which make use of her whip. Such puzzles include using bombs and the Flame Form to blow up obstructed pathways and materials in the environment.
Darksiders III features a levelling system and a crafting system. Similar to War, yet dissimilar to Death, Fury collects souls from enemies and from objects in the environment, as a form of currency or an expendable resource. According to the developer, the threats of the game’s world will grow stronger as the player progresses through the story, matching Fury’s power every time a Deadly Sin is defeated.
The game takes place during the century War is imprisoned by the Charred Council at the beginning of Darksiders I and the events of
Darksiders II . It begins with a retelling of the origins of how the four horsemen War, Death, Strife & Fury came to serve the Charred Council and how they were granted their roles as of the New Pact created at the end of the Nephillim War. The Council also deems Fury the most impatient and unpredictable of the horsemen, when she interrupts them assigning roles to the horsemen.
Following the opening moments of Darksiders I , War is blamed for prematurely bringing about the apocalypse and apprehended for his crime. With War imprisoned, Death missing (as he attempts to clear War’s name), and Strife attending to other matters, Fury is summoned by the Charred Council and assigned to hunt down and destroy the Seven Deadly Sins , who have escaped imprisonment by the Charred Council and are now on Earth. Fury agrees to these terms so long as when she succeeds, she is made the leader of the horsemen. The Council agree to these terms and direct her to a place call Haven to begin her search but allocate a female Watcher to her to ensure her obedience. Before she leaves, War pleas for forgiveness of a transgression he made towards Fury in the past, tries to assert his own innocence and warns her of forces conspiring against them (none of which she acknowledges). Arriving on Earth, Fury soon runs into Envy, defeating and trapping her in a talisman Envy possesses to absorb power from the other sins. The talisman also serves as a radar, emanating a hum and glow whenever another of the seven are close by. Entering Haven, Fury encounters the demon merchant, Vulgrim, who offers items in exchange for souls and also echoes War’s sentiments of someone or something manipulating the horseman in a grander scheme. She also encounters a group of Makers and the humans (the most notable being the Maker, Ulthane Blackhammer, and human, Jones) who are helping humans who have survived the apocalypse and question Fury’s purpose in the war. Fury dismisses their words, stating she does not care but agrees to transport any humans she finds to them, using an artifact known as The Bridge in exchange for Ulthane upgrading her weapon. As a token of good faith, Ulthane gives her the location of Wrath, who is residing in the Nether.
Arriving in the Nether, Fury finds Wrath killing multiple angels. Fury battles Wrath but is distracted when her steed, Rampage, is summoned and dies (having been stabbed with angelic weapons by an unknown assailant). This distraction allows Wrath to impale her with an angel javelin, informing her that the more she fights the stronger he gets. Using the broken javelin that impaled her, Fury manages to seemingly kill Wrath by impaling him through his helmet’s visor, but the effort causes her to fall unconscious.
When Fury awakes, she encounters the Lord of the Hollows, a powerful entity within the Hollows that wields power to completely release both weary Angels and Demons to from the cycle of life, death and rebirth of the Well of Souls. The Hollow Lord attempts to inform Fury that she is being manipulated by the Charred Council for their machinations, going so far as to call her ignorant and blind to their plans and lies. Though Fury denies it, the Lord of the Hollows nonetheless aids her by giving her the powers of elemental hollows (to enhance her combat abilities) and instructs her to hunt down the demon Abraxis and return Abraxis’ soul to him.
As Fury takes one sin after another, sealing them in Envy’s talisman, the Lord of Hollows continues to endow her with new hollows to aid in her mission. She encounters the leader of the angels on earth, Usiel, demanding an answer for Rampage’s death. Usiel claims to have no knowledge of the slaughter but strikes a deal with Fury. He reveals to Fury that the Sin, Lust, has been resurrecting dead angels with power gained through an unknown demonic source, in exchange for the details of Lust’s source of power, Usiel agrees to find out who killed Rampage. Confronting Lust, Fury struggles to beat him as lust employs many illusions that play on what Fury lusts after the most and Usiel’s interruption and corruption by Lust (who promises to return the angels to their former glory and cause Usiel to become the leader of the angels), but is able to defeat him and break Usiel free of Lust’s control. Fury confronts Lust on the source of his power, Lust however does not divulge this information but instead seemingly insults Fury’s intelligence by offering her the location of the weakest sin, Envy, causing Fury to kill him. Beginning to realise the error of her ways, Fury spares Usiel and allies herself with him.
After defeating Gluttony, Fury returns to The Lord of Hollows where he prophesies that the next time they face each other, only one will stand. When she makes it to Abraxis’ stronghold, Fury asks him to why the Lord of Hollows wants Abraxis dead. Abraxis tells Fury that a new dark lord known as The Destroyer , is coming and the Lord of Hollows intends to hollow the mortal realm to install a new order that would disrupt the balance. You can then make one of the following choices:
If you choose to believe in Abraxis, the demon will thank you and welcome Fury to his master’s home anytime. If you choose to kill Abraxis, you will take his soul as a prize.
If your chose to believe Abraxis, when you return to the Lord of Hollows, He will explain further and you can choose whether or not to believe the Lord of Hollows again. If you choose not to believe him you will face and kill him. If you choose to believe him, he will explain that he used to be a servant of the Charred Council in the past but was disillusioned with their version of balance and chooses instead to help humans instead of angels and demons as humans were born from dust whilst angels and demons were created. He will then end his own life and a mysterious sigil stone for you in the future.
Eventually, Fury faces and defeats the last sin, Pride. After Fury defeats Pride, the Watcher that has been trailing Fury the whole time reveals herself to be, Envy. Initially disguising a servant of hers as Envy (by giving her Envy’s talisman, causing Fury to believe the servant was Envy) and tricking Fury to help her absorb the rest of the sins. Envy takes the talisman and wields all the powers of the seven sins, taking a chunk of Fury’s own power for good measure (and assuming a new form that is an amalgamation of the four horsemen and seven deadly sins in the process) and knocks Fury down a steep fall.
Fury survives from her fall, having been found and taken in by Ulthane and Jones, but is left humiliated by her defeat at the hands of Envy and realising she has been arrogant and guilty of all seven deadly sins. However, Jones and Ulthane restore Fury’s resolve and convince her to continue to fight on and be better than she was. Ulthane then creates a portal that allows Fury to reach the Charred Council’s chamber to face Envy who is attempting to assassinate the Council. With new resolve, Fury defeats Envy, but the Charred Council no longer values Fury and attempt to kill her due to her knowledge of the Council’s corruption.
If you have the mysterious sigil stone, Fury will use it to block the Charred Coucil’s attack and fear its power. Although she doesn’t know what the stone, she realizes the council fears it and realises that it is a tool of great power. Ultimately, Fury resists and throws Envy’s talisman that holds the defeated sins at the Charred Council causing an explosion, which she uses to escape back to Earth.
Fury returns to Earth, where the makers are guarding the remaining humans. She now realizes this war was motivated by Heaven and Hell’s fear of humanity’s potential. With the armies of Hell making a final attack on Mankind’s last safe haven, the Makers and Jones fight back the demons while Ulthane and Fury use the portal to transport the remains of humanity to another world where they can rebuild their numbers until they are strong enough to retake Earth. After vowing to protect humanity and asking Ulthane to help War should their paths cross. Fury goes to leave, but before she departs, she discovers that Jones is in fact her brother, Strife, in disguise.
A post-credits scene shows the demoness Lilith meeting with her master, Lucifer , revealed to be the architect of the Apocalypse and the events of the previous games. Though irritated by the interference of the Horsemen in his plans, Lucifer concludes that the state of conflict between Heaven, Hell and the Charred Council will work to his advantage.
Darksiders is a great game but it can not be regarded as the “BEST GAME OF YEAR” .It is a great game made by thq nordic and continues the legacy of previous games .
