This is the LG foldable Phone according to Evan Blass
The best technology leaker Evan Blass has said that LG will be showing off its foldable display phone at Consumer Electronic Summit.
Well it is less than 3 months away we are already about to enter November and CES is in January. This does not neccessarily means that they are ahead of Samsung. It is just that there works got leaked.
Samsung and LG are 2 biggest brands when we talk about displays, Samsung being the bigger one. But LG has earlier this month also stated that it is worling on foldable display and has intent of launching a foldable phone sometime.
The era of foldable smartphone may be nearer than we think, may the next flagship you buy is like that or may be it becomes standard by next ‘Techtober’
Evan Blass has only talked about LG and told that he is unaware of Samsung developments. Though it is well known that Samsung Developer Conference is on 7th November, we may see some official update regarding there development over there.
The foldable display would allow us to fit a large screen size at really small form factor, it could be like fitting a iPad Pro in a pocket. The idea is that there is a seem less display without hi ge in between. It should be the flexibility of the phone that should allow it to fold from center and then carry it any where in your pocket.
The race to the display could toss up any way, because it is not a product that is developed, it is still a idea and design iterations shall be still happening at the Samsung as well as the LG offices.
Also this may allow to have some different solution for notch also. As we see many patents from Samsung as well as LG, they are trying to make there displays allow a camera to embedded below it or allow a small cutout for camera and have display all around it.
These all are in development, but with the increasing news specially because of hints from Evan Blass, it seems that this lifestyle may be not much far away.
