How Steve Jobs would Have Launched iPhone X: Notch, Face Id Multitask

12th September 2017:

Steve Jobs: Good Morning, every once in a while a pardigm shift comes that changes our perception about things. Today the iPhone X would be the same milestone.

There was a point 100 years ago when to get ice you had to wait for winters then go to some frozen river to cut the ice. Then came the ice factory, whenever you want ice go to the factory and buy it. Then came refrigerator, ice at your home get everything you want at your home.

The similarity among them was that they were not slight improvements they were massive, they made paradigm shift they made us change the way we see and percieve things. Today with iPhone we are going to do the same Wonder.

In 2007 we launched the first iPhone, at a time of 1–2 inch screen that had screen to body ratio around 40% we made the shift to make screen have a major portion of the body.

And today we stand with another shift, when we push it to the further most border of your phone. We have designed a human like face to give it more human look and it works lile butter.

The question most people have is how would our phones recoganize us. So we would use the mechanical version of best recoganization system in the world. The best, the one we ourseleves use to recoganize people we call them our eyes.

The iPhone X is born with many of them of different in kinds and we call it Face ID. Just a glance and it you are into the phone. We pioneered swipe to unlock then the Touch ID and then this is the next revolution in it- Face ID

The whole of Face Id lives at top of phone in a notch. We have stretched the screen to the widest ends to ensure smallest foot print. We have redesigned the software to support it.

To make symmetry with the notch, we have added a new revolutionary system for navigation. A white band at bottom of your screen that encompases whole new world of capabilities. We call it Apple Pill. (Named it on my own)

One problem most of us face with these bigger phones is difficult navigation, we haveto stretch our fingers to reach hard to reach the edge of screen. What we have done is reorganize the screen real estate so that from single hand, the hard to reach portion of screen is swipe based, and the easy to reach it is touch based.

Apple Pill is based on swipes touching it takes you to home swiping up and holding brings up your multitasking and it is phenomenal. The control Center has been moved to top left of the screen.

Swiping down from left of screen brings notifications swiping from right portion brings out control center.

This has ensured that single handed operations can take place easily. We have made the bottom of screen less scattered and spread the functions to whole of display to prevent wrong taps.
