Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster Impact: Making Supercar Maker Koenigsegg Embarrassed

Elon Musk’s Tesla Roadster is still 2 years away but, Christian von Koenigsegg, the head of supercar maker ‘Koenigsegg’, has presented his concerns over power of Roadster comapared to Regera, which is Koenigsegg’s best offering at present

He stated that Tesla’s performance was embaressing them. In their smooth moving plans of growth, Tesla Roadstem came as a turmoil. After overcoming the heat of reality that this unbelievable performance. 

The thing to take notice is that Tesla’s Elon Musk at the launch event presented these specification and performance result for the base model.

He has stated that they would also be having some more models and including one SpaceX edition Tesla Roadster which would have 10 small rockets.

Elon Musk won’t have let out all the cards of Tesla 2 years before launch. He only has teased them, and knows that other companies will reach that spec level by 2020, that is why he has still some cards remaining.

 

The acceleration and the distance range were embaressing them, provided that they cost less than a Million dollar. It accelerates 0-60 Mph in 1.9 seconds. Koenigsegg Regera does it in 2.7 seconds. Added was the fact that Tesla was giving these results with its base model, the top model performance is not known at present. Besides this the Roadster would have 620 mile range. Which is far ahead of competition.

Koenigsegg fears the same, as a result Koenigsegg started to see its probaility of being true, and the answers was yes.

They started to think of improvement Christian Von Koenigsegg the CEO of Koenigsegg stated , “What we see with our engines, we’ve noticed that we’re just scratching the surface of what we can achieve. Here’s an example: if we ignore fuel consumption for a moment… we have a fairly high compression ratio for our turbo V8 – 9.5 to 1 with 1.6 bar of boost. If we drop that to 8.8 to 1, we could boost to 2.2 bar, which is another 600bhp just like that, without putting more stress on your engine because your peak pressure doesn’t go up. And it would only consume about five per cent more fuel,”

Koenigsegg CEO is embarrassed by these specifications because his cars can’t compete even the base model at present, he can for sure cover the base model in year or 2, because cost effectivness is never something to worry when you are making super cars. But the problem would be the top model at the launch of Roadster in 2020. Can he gain a lead from Tesla also.
