Samsung Galaxy Home: Incomplete Effort with Bixby

Galaxy Home is Samsung’s reply to Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri and Amazon’s Alexa. They have had their assistany Bixby in Galaxy series for a while, but they never had a smart speaker.

But now they have their own smart speaker which stands tall, not because of its features but because of its tripod legs.

Though they give it its unique looks but i believe them to be looking rather wierd.

They are said to having 8 mics and speakers, for long distance voice recorganization. Though in the live demo only it seemed that the speaker was unable to recorganize the voice, for around 15 seconds.

#Samsung have collaborated with Spotify to bring over their libarary to Galaxy Home. The speaker also has #AKG logo over it. Which means that speaker has been callibarated with the help of AKG.

Samsung also told that the Unpacked event where the Galaxy Note 9, new watch and Galaxy Home launched, had 160 of these speakers playing all the media, which is a pretty bold statement.

After all good, it is the time to hear the not so good also. Samsung is Samsung, and they don’t know software as good as Google. They have made their bixby assistant, but the #Google assistant has till date been the number one. They have slim chance to take on #Apple and #Amazon

The reason is simple because Google does software very good. Google infact said that in their Google Home they planned 8 mics in manner similar to Galaxy Home, but later used machine learning to achieve same accuracy levels with 2 mics.

That’s the point, on paper Samsung has a great speaker, but in reality the voice recorganization may not be good, and apart from that the wide variety of tasks available on Google Assistant are unparlleled.

Samsung says they have this and that but the point is that Google has been in the market for 2 years now, and they are in their core a software company so they do it great.

I believe the Galaxy Home needs to have great software developers working to even be on the same page as of Google
