Often we have times when we click photos just to realize an element obstructing our picture, which is stupid irritating, any way it google has one
Last year at Google I/O you showcased, a new technological algorithm, which would allow removing obstruction from any image, a year has gone by, at Google I/O last year, I believed Pixel 2 would have 2 cameras, combined images would be used to remove obstructions. Well It sounded awesome as it is, and it would be a real fun to use it real life, though how soon has gone beyond our expectations
Forward to October 4th, 2017 Pixel had one camera and a brilliant algorithm for portrait mode and hands down it was the best. Just recently Google got patented an algorithm, for removing obstruction
Here’s The Thing
Now here’s the thing, no one is stopping Google to use more hardware, why do they need to travel an extra mile to get better results, when they can get better results without requiring extra mile.
The point is can’t they have to cameras and on top of that your algorithm. Point is not to criticize google, but two cameras and bad algorithms are not as good as one camera and great algorithms which are not as good as two cameras great algorithms.
If you have to simply rely on Algorithms then why make hardware make software. You have got great talent of HTC, worth a billion dollar. Leadership of Ex-motorola CEO Rick Osterloh, you have great capabilities in hardware like all but also industry leading software. Please treat hardware like software and that’s it yours is the whole world
Hope Pixel 3 meets our dreams
