Future of Instagram is Sideways: Well For Scrolling Atleast
Instagram is testing a newer interface interface for there feeds. Bringing in a horizontal scrolling interface, the feature is in testing. Scrolling left will make you scroll through posts from people scrolling down will take you to comments, and description.
Though it is in testing, but the test roll out had impact on wider than expected user base. The Instagram users are not happy with it. Yes it this that people never like to change from status quo.
But the interface seems good. After the backlash the company had to roll back the update
“Due to a bug, some users saw a change to the way their feed appears today,” read a tweet on Instagram’s Twitter page. “We quickly fixed the issue and feed is back to normal. We apologize for any confusion.”
“Sorry about that,” tweeted Adam Mosseri, Instagram’s VP of Product, who started his job a few months ago. “This was supposed to be a very small test but we went broader than we anticipated.
I have the new Instagram horizontal scroll interface. I’m sure this will not be met with any backlash WHATSOEVER. But seems maybe intended to reduce mindless vertical scrolling? cc @mosseri comments at the end 😭 pic.twitter.com/fwmtbfjFaf

I personally cinsider it a good idea, because the left soace is getting wasted. And moreover at present most of the times the caption goes unread. At present you have to enter into the post in order to read the comments and then go back to feed, with this testing interface, swipe down for comments and then easily swipe tk the right for the next post. No going back and forth
