Xiaomi Pocophone is compelling in price but is unable to deliver quality as
OnePlus 6 . Problems include lack of HD content on Youtube, Netflix. It is suffering with multi-touch problems, Notch issues, network issues, Screen Bleeding and Camera issues.
Unsolvable Issues
Pocophone seemed to be the best phone at first glance. With top of the line specs and best bang for the buck it seemed to be a hot pancakes, for lesser #price point
Though pretty soon we have started to see reports of the Pocophone inconsistencies. Steve Jobs introduced the idea of Multi touch with the first iPhone, and said a good bye to stylus in 2007, But its today’s world where the #Multitouch seems to be not functioning. Many users have reported there phone sensing random touches. Though Xiaomi told that the reports were fake, but if so many people say the same thing it is worth being true. You can’t correct it to 100% by software, so expect to live like that.
The next one is terrible, the Pocophone cannot play #Netflix and #YouTube in HD. forget 4k but not even in HD. This is not due to some technical issue, it is in the process of manufacturing.#Xiaomi does not have DRM component to accompany the phone. Widevine DRM is Digital Rights Managment component of Google Chrome web browser and Android MediaDRM. It is a leading encryption scheme for securely licensing distributing and protecting playback on video on any consumer device. #Pocophone comes with Widevine DRM L3, whereas Widevine DRM L1 is required for decoding in HD. The Pocophone plays only 640p videos. This applies to Netflix and YouTube besides may other,
The next issue was Display inconsistencies. We have seen reports of excessive light coming from the bottom half of the phone which seems to be pretty annoying known as #ScreenBleeding. It is a hardware issue, so Xiaomi would have to physically replace or rework the screen if they are willing to do it.
Solvable Issues
#Network Issues, if you are in country other than India, then it is quiet possible, that your network provider’s frequency are not supported by this device, though it can even be that you face problems in India. Many Indians have reported network issues in many parts of India, on Airtel and Idea.
Some other issues witnessed with the Pocophone include, missing icons and battery percentage in Status Bar. The lack of 4k 60fps on the camera which should seems to be glitchy, it is something we need when you compete with something like #OnePlus6 The #notch has also caused some trouble, many apps are not able to work properly with the Pocophone, this includes PUBG, that has some of it’s game play not working as notch is occupying the space.
