The podcast ‘India’s Got Latent’ hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia, better known as `BeerBiceps`, caused a stir all over India when he boldly inquired something to a participant:

    > “Would you rather watch your parents having .... every day for the rest of your life, or join once, to make it stop forever?”

This remark led to widespread rage wherein Allahbadia, along with Samay Raina and Apoorva Mukhija, were accused of vulgarity promoting obscenity.

In retaliation, Samay decided to erase all episodes of the show claiming the purpose was solely to entertain people. But that resulted in worsening of situation where Allahbadia started receiving death threats, resulting in his legal troubles. The Supreme Court came to the rescue stating that basic rights of the citizens are not meant for unlimited abuses and suggesting that such content laws would need regulating.

This issue has opened doors to talk about comedy and free speech in India. Some support freedom of expression while others desire tougher laws against forcing offensive content where The India’s Got Latent controversy reminds us of the witless boundaries we now live in throughout the Internet era.
