Hey Creators, we are constantly tweaking our monetization scheme to create a good balance for our Creators.

This time, we are asking publicly for thoughts over the changes coming to the Monetization Scheme.

Why we need changes?

Well, truth be told, Milyin is not doing well financially. Are losses are at about 78-79%. What that means is that for every Rs. 100 you earn, we are only earning around Rs. 21-22.

Why are we loosing money? Well, our Creators earn through ads, affiliate links, likes, comments, referrals, streaks, and more.

We earn only from advertisements. This means our earnings from advertisements need to offset your earnings through Coins. Example figures:

For Milyin	For Creator
Rs. 25 (From Advertisements)	Rs. 35-40 (From Advertisements, Affiliate Links)
Rs. 0 (from Likes, Comments, Streaks)	Rs. 15 (From Likes, Comments, Streaks)
Rs. 0 (Streaks, Referral, Signup bonus)	Rs. 50 (From Streaks, Referral, Signup)

This is just an example of usual new Creators.

Clearly, unsustainable.

Harsh Reality

It should be obvious to you by now, that is recipe for disaster. We are burning money, and our company is not going to survive another year with it.

Additional funding injected by our co-founders had kept Milyin afloat for 2025, but this is the year we either become profitable or die.

The changes above were done to somehow lure more Creators into joining and creating at Milyin.

Things clearly haven't changed!

Proposed Changes

So, let's get to our proposed changes, which will shed some light on what we intend to do to survive.

Referral Bonus

It's been a big complaint! Creators don't want to refer for "free".

So, starting, 1st week of June, Creators will get 100 Coins for successful sign up as well.

Follower Milestone

We are removing bonus from milestones like Followers. Doesn't seem to be working

Onboarding Completion

We are removing the bonus for onboarding completion as well. There is no point giving bonuses for something so obvious and natural.

First Creation Bonus

The one-time first Creation bonus is being reduced from 100 Coins to 50 Coins.

Affiliates and Advertisement Earnings

We are reducing earnings per engagement for Affiliates and Advertisements by 25%. This should further help align our earnings and their earnings.

Why We Are Doing This?

Answer is simple: Survival

If we don't do this, our survival becomes difficult. Businesses can't keep running on net losses forever.

Become a Live Chat Assistant

Our intention would be to become no-profit no-loss starting next month.

What about your existing Earnings?

Your existing earnings will remain intact. If a scheme change impacts your earnings, we will issue an offset to keep your net earnings the same for yoou.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on it, and suggestions on what else changes we can do to the monetization scheme to better align with yours and our own best interests.

If our creations can reach more readers, chances of ad-clicking increases. For this we don’t just need to share, but share everywhere possible – with relevant engagement. Here the goal is to drive readers to Milyin as much possible. I noticed this for myself: last year I was doing well regarding earning from ad-clicks, but this year not so much of ad-clicks – because this year I dint have expansive social media appearance until now. Based on that, I am restarting with daily publishing and sharing and engagement by this weekend. I think others should do this as well: increase activity, share more, engage more, drive readers more. Little content but daily or at least frequent publishing (+sharing +engaging) will work for both the platform and the creators. Let Milyin survive first, then we will rock again!

About the monetisation scheme I won’t see anything because, as a creator, definitely I would love to have a good share of earnings. So it’s like the sky is the limit when it comes to the earning factor. But definitely I will say a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. So it’s better Milyin survives than facing a situation where you have to shut down. And I definitely have faith you will again change when time allows the scheme for better where both the platform and creators share benefits.
