Longing

When I was around you or far,

I had the familiarity of you.

I stood alone anticipating something,

You filled the space of emptiness I had.

When you sent me off to reach home safe,

You offered a wave off goodbye.

I felt special,I felt sad

As we stood far yet too close at the stadium,

My heart was longing to hold your hand, to hold you.

You assured me about your past,

When I was merely a third person.

You offered me a ride but it didn't work out,

The thought of your offer made me smile.

As days and weeks passed by,

I realised I liked you.

As all I wanted was to hold onto you.

As we met, as our eyes came in contact,

Your little smirks and gimmicks caused me butterflies.

We stood next to each other,

Nervous and shy,

I glanced at the pretty you.

I muttered silly words, to which you noted.

Again I went so far,

But you put me through your presence virtually like you wanted me too

You were concerned about me over matters that were small.
