Who is at fault? Who deserves the punishment?

Is it this world that must answer?
Are dreams the offering, or is life itself the sacrifice placed on the altar?

Whose is the crime? Whose is the sin?
Who bears the burden, O God—can you tell?
Will it ever end? Or is there no escape?
How many more days in these chains?

    Will anyone speak up?
Is it us who are great, or is life itself noble?
Or is it just a scale that weighs all wounds?
Can you say which way the wind of justice blows,
    O God?
    Tell me… tell me…

In the steam of fading hopes,
    this life is drowning.
    In this very moment,
I cannot confess it, I cannot deny it.
No one can fix this life of mine.
    That’s why, that’s why—
    Death feels like shelter.

Forgive me, Mother—more than a mother to me,
My full moon of love and light.
