    You are such a beauty!

With those up and down cliffs, vast fields of greenery and an always circulating sweet breeze.

With the most beautiful valleys and meadows making you the Mini Switzerland.

Extremely sorry to hear that homicide on your lap.

We are mere travelers who are waiting for a long vaccation and setting our backpacks ready for another trip.

And Kashmir is always a traveler's paradise.

When you read about a particular place everything there will be unfamiliar to you. But slowly you get a glimpse of the place, you get an idea about the geography of the place and you now you know a little about the place. And once you are there, that place can create an indelible mark in your heart.

    Such was our Kashmir experience.

Once we too have been there, in Pahalgam, Kashmir with family and friends. Had some wonderful memories to cherish forever.

    An adrenaline-rushing horse ride.

    Betab Valley.

    So many beautiful places!

It was just after the covid pandemic. Kashmir was just getting back to her normal days with a large number of tourists again coming to visit her beautiful hills and lakes.

They were all very much happy to welcome us. Those two years of covid had really drained their savings and finances. Since tourism was the only helpline for a beautiful land tucked between war, violence and terrorism on one side and beauty, charm and natural wonders on the other side, we were there boon makers.

Every moment, we spent there were loaded with love, warmth and dearness from the local people. Those oft quoted words will etch in your mind forever. "If there is a heaven on earth, it is here, here, here."

Remembering that old Chacha, who was the caretaker of our houseboat on Dal lake. How wonderful was the dinner he served for us!

That young boy, who took care of the horse we rode there. He was finding means to his education by that vocation.

How long it will take to be back to normal?

All those innocent travellers, their grieving family, and the trauma of the survivors!

Whoever is held responsible, will there be an end to cruelties like this?

A lot of travelers, longing to see Kashmir. Won't there be reluctance to go? We all have fear for our lives, no?

Those little faces, waiting to see their father coming back after selling souvenirs and Kashmir specials to tourists. How pathetic will be there tomorrows?

And those helpless souls, succumbed to death without even fully grasping what was happening around!

How this world can be this much horrible?

We can't find solutions or give kickbacks. We are as helpless as each and everyone undergoing traumas after every terrorist attacks.

This is just another lament, I know. From souls too far from the preys, but too heavy with pains just as them.

That anger, that grief, that helplessness!

All those mixed feelings by those who love the paradise is just scattered here.

    Sorry Pahalgam...

For all the atrocities, you had to bear because of some miscreants among us. Not a word more to say.
