I am a science teacher in a government school.
My old student Ram is not very happy with his present path. Ram is doing B.A (Hons) history in one of the good colleges in the city.
Ram said,” Madam time, I get agonized over my future #career path.”
I said” Ram please have patience and courage in your doings. To find the right path which can help you in making you strong in life. I suggest you do the following simple exercise."

1. make a list of the things in life that make you #happy.”
To help Ram resolve the issues he is facing in life I suggested the following.
I said"Ram please make two lists. One list that contains those types of actions in life that make you happy #instantaneously. For example, eating ice cream on a hot summer day. Meeting an old friend after many days. Playing indoor games."
I further said "Make a second list which includes actions that may give you happiness. That happiness may take a long time to appear and a long time to #fade away. Examples of the same are 1. walking in green surroundings, 2. playing basketball with junior boys and giving tips for the game."
I further added “Some of the activities listed in the first category list might clash with the activities listed in the second list. An example of the same is, eating ice cream every day instead of eating #healthy meals. This activity can not be common in both lists mentioned above”.
Ram said” But a few activities in both lists might fit into both categories. An example of the same is as follows. As a teacher madam you make educational #collages while teaching. The best teacher enjoys making instantaneous educational collages while teaching. Many teachers may enjoy making educational collages with the help of students after teaching a whole chapter in class. Good teachers like making both types of educational collages mentioned above. Both activities give good teachers an equal amount of happiness."
I said, "People who believe in eco walk enjoy an equal amount of happiness if the eco walk is done for a few minutes or hours".
Ram further said,” Madam I will circle those items, that bring me both short-term happiness and #long-term happiness.”
I further said, “Ram above mentioned activities which you have circled are special in a way that you can spend your life doing those but still will never feel you’ve worked a day.”
Ram said ” Madam activities that help us feel ₹calm or happy relax the mind and uplift the spirit. An example of the same is 1. physical exercises like walking or yoga. 2. Spending time in nature brings joy and sparks joy. They release feel-good #hormones”
I said” Ram #meditation and deep breathing help in calming the mind. Connecting with loved ones provides emotional joy. Acts of kindness, such as helping underprivileged students also increase the degree of happiness.”
Ram said, “Even small things like enjoying a cup of tea, doing a writing activity every day, or watching a favorite movie can create moments of calm and joy.”
Ram thanked me for suggesting several activities that can bring peace to life.
Ram said "Madam I will try my best to practice some activities mentioned in our conversation in my day-to-day life to bring inner peace to my life"
I further said, "Meditation and making a habit of forgetting all grudges can bring happiness and inner peace in life."
I further added, "Above mentioned activities may look small but when practiced with sincerity, direct one to the different peace-loving path of life."
When you are not happy with your present way of life. Never get #agonized with day to day-to-day activities of life. The best is to keep some time for activity in your routine which makes you calm and peaceful.
