A few years ago I went on a trip to a beautiful, picturesque mountain region of my country, Romania. During that trip we went on a hike on a country road that allowed me to cross a mountain village with scattered, isolated houses, situated at quite a long distance one from another.

That hike left quite an impression on me because of that feeling of loneliness, of isolation generated by the view of those houses built in the heart of the mountains. For me as a tourist it was quite a remarkable, but also thought-provoking experience as I kept thiking about the inhabitants of that isolated place.

Living in a remote mountain village, away from the noisy and crowded cities, is both a blessing and a curse. It's a blessing because you can enjoy nature in its full splendour, away from stress and pollution, and a curse because that remoteness can make your life very hard, especially during cold winter months, when you can be actually be cut off from the world for a while because of bad weather conditions, and in the case of emergency there might be nobody able to reach your place and help you.

Obviously, it takes a lot of qualities to be able to survive in such an encieonment. One should be mentally strong, capableof dealing with hardships, and respectul of nature, among others, in order to be able to live in such an isolated place, and I don't think many people would be willing to move away from the comfort of city life and adapt to this harsh lifestyle.

As a conclusion, I think those brave inhabitants of such remote communities deserve our admiration and respect. They are a truly special kind of people!
