This is the question that can lead to all types of negative mental health problems.
When we start something new at first nothing happens. And then slowly when we start to see growth, we wish we would have started sooner.
Because then, by this time we could have made some progress.
Of course, this thought comes from our desire to have instant results.
When we are building something new, the wait just kills us. Waiting for our work to take off, waiting to see the results of that work.
I can vouch for this since I always feel like this.
No matter what I am starting, after doing it for a couple of days, I can’t control myself from thinking this way.
As our mind is constantly working, it is hard to control these types of thoughts.
And from my personal experience, I can say
It happens the most with people who can get their work done fast in both efficient and effective ways possible.
It comes to their mind more because it is hard for them to accept how can the result be so slow for the work they have done so fast.
When I am feeling this way and everything seems so long and uncertain, I stop focusing on the past, present and future.
And simply focus on the present.
Not what I have done, or what will I have. Just the thing I am doing.
By focusing my mind on now, the hopelessness and the overthinking can be minimized.
If you are the same as me, you can apply this technique.
Thank you for staying until the end!
