Time management is a very well-talked-about aspect these days and we must have faced the issue of lack of time at some point in time in our lives. Facing this issue, I was also curious on what are some of the possible ways to plan and structure the day in a better manner. Creating a daily task list was one of the ways that stood out for me and some of the merits of having a daily task list are as follows:

1. Enhancing focus- I feel planning a set of action plans for the current day or for the next set of days can significantly assist in prioritizing our respective day in a better manner. It could also help us to channelize our focus towards the things that require our utmost focus. Here, the aim of the daily task plan will not be to only capture the work-related aspects but will also look at capturing other aspects such as hobbies, self-care and health.
2. Timelines-A daily task plan can also assist us to follow any work/project/ assignment related timelines that we might have for ourselves based on our respective nature of work. We can segment and divide the existing timeline and structure our day accordingly with the help of the daily task plan.
3. Motivation-I feel if our day is planned better and we are able to enhance our focus and meet the timelines based on the aspects that require our key attention, then there would also be an increase in our overall motivation and we would certainly feel a major sense of accomplishment. Here, I feel our creativity will also get enriched and we can have a great sense of accomplishment.
4. Goal mapping-Having a daily task list in place can also help us to keep a track of our respective goals. We can do a successful monitoring of our goals and reassess and edit the schedule as per the things that have been completed and the emerging alternate tasks that might require our additional attention. For example- If I was aiming at completing Task A (say a work assignment) and also aiming to complete a really interesting book-Task B, I can then probably allocate more time to Task B if I am almost through with my Task A. Hence, I feel a daily task list can surely help us to keep some degree of track for both our long-term and short-term goals.

5. Holistic development-A daily task plan can include small steps with regards to all the things that we might want to include in our lives on a regular basis. It is very comprehensive in nature and can include both work and non-work-related aspects which are important to us holistically. We will gradually start to notice that a daily task list is contributing to multiple spheres that are important to us.
We all have different ways to structure and plan out our days. I feel the best thing about having a daily task plan in place is that it can help us to be in regular check with the aspects that require our attention and are crucial to us. Everyone prioritizes their day based on the things that are best suited to them. Hence, another merit of a daily task plan is that it can follow any format and does not need to follow any specific order. It can be designed as per the suitability and the priorities of a respective individual. Additionally, we can also create some scope of revised action plan in our daily task plan list in order to navigate any possibility of change of plans that might need to be accommodated by us. This will help us to keep a track of any recent changes that have taken place and act accordingly as per the same.
