Fictional works (novels or dramas) shape the idea of love.

    Love stories are love.

Growing up watching the daily soaps and movies has made an impact on me. The intense bickering, dilemma phase, one realising the love, the other being ignorant, the roller coaster ride, misunderstandings, separation, realisations, and finally building something beautiful together had me hooked.

The journey from can't even tolerate their sight to can't even survive for another second without their presence. Ugh, enemies-to-lovers trope – that's what we call it now. This trope always touches my heart, as it gives hope that love changes perspective. Love helps us be acknowledging, appreciative and accepting. That's my 3A's of love. Things remain the same, but the feeling of love changes our perception.

But anyways, the blooming love has me smiling, being enthusiastic for the next day just to enjoy their innocent dreamy love stories. The hesitation, newness, taking efforts, them calling “aap” and feeling everything suddenly became better have my heart flipping.

Them stealing glances, hiding their sizzling chemistry from the intriguing eyes, the uncertainty, the clock ticking slowly, the comfortable silence, the hour-long conversations, the trips to special food joints, them wishing they met earlier, and having a school love story. The world seeming against them but them together being enough. These things had me wishing for a future life, maybe somewhere similar, if not the same. Everything seems magical. Suddenly you also start appreciating stars, fireflies, and butterflies.

The dramas gave a reality check, but a heart devoid of heartbreak never understands that right. So leaving practicality aside, a part of me is hoping for a love story like that, always used to win, and that hasn't changed today as well. Delusional, isn't it? But who cares? After all, dil hi to hai.

I really enjoy love stories. I cannot say I hate watching love stories or I hate love stories; they are beautiful. Being fictional has its own perks, in that they always have beautiful endings. True love stories in real life may sound good but remain mostly incomplete. But in someone's work of fiction, it's not.

I enjoy the roller coaster ride through the character's life journey. Practicality can stay all the time, but stealing a few hours of delusion sometimes doesn't hurt. In the end, who doesn't wish for an imperfect but peaceful life?
