About - Daredevil: Born Again - Season 1, Episode 4 (Sic Semper Systema) Review.
That talk Matt Murdock had with Frank Castle is arguably the best part of the show right now. They are awesome together. It's an emotional scene with great performances. You don't have to like it, but it's easy to see why it would be special to many.
It's one of the best scenes because of how much people love punishers and daredevils. But, I just don’t get why Kingpin did not come up in this Daredevil/Punisher conversation at all, as both characters have a more direct history with Kingpin than Bullseye.

The first half of the episode shows Fisk and Matt Murdock trying to do things the right way. The second half shows them coming back to who they are. An amazing episode.
I like how Daredevil adopts Nobu's fighting skill set by adding that extension and slice component to his weapons. Call back from Season 1 and Season 2 to when Nobu used it against him.

Daredevil: Born Again - S1 Episode 4 (Sic Semper Systema) Review
Muse is a serial killer who uses the blood of his victims to create art. In the comics, a daredevil finds out his muse created a massive mural using the blood of 113 victims. An interesting character. Hopefully, we’ll see more of him soon. The Punisher's psychology has always moved me deeply. And it always does when they do it like in this episode. It's brutal. And it's great to see it again after Hector's death.
Aaron asked how Frank knew Matt was "Red." Frank had known he was Daredevil since the courtroom scene in Season 2- where Frank took the stand and Matt is questioning him. Go back and watch that scene-you can watch him figure it out through physical acting- a next-level performance by Bernthal too. He's known him for a long time.
I enjoyed noticing the parallel that episode one ends with Fisk on top of a rooftop looking down. Meanwhile, Matt was lower on the street, looking up. Episode four ends with them loosening on the lies they have lived with now Matt with the billy club playing on the roof. And Fisk lowered himself back into his old self in his evil dungeon in New York. They're slowly cracking. Super cool episode.

This episode focused beautifully on what I call the elephant in the room. Frank is the voice of common sense, honesty, forcing Matt to confront what he’s been pushing away deep within. The themes were beautiful, the mirroring was immaculate, the dialogue…was perfection. Possibly my favorite episode. Loved seeing Jon Bernthal back, of course, also.
Another observation. Going to punisher almost feels like Matt going to a confessional. Could be a stretch, but he’s on one side of the room behind the fence carrying the punisher's arsenal, trying to get information, but it’s really all about Matt’s grieving process for Foggy along with his attempt on a bullseye, with the punisher being the priest.
Charlie, Jon, and Vincent continue to prove they're some of the best casts in comic-based series. You can feel their love for these characters. We already know Frank and Matt will share an action scene, and I'm incredibly excited. This series meets my expectations in every way.
