Watching them from a faraway place
A mother and her daughter
Smiling and laughing
Which made them closer.
The daughter ready for school
And her mother to drop her.
The mist soaking away in the clouds,
Making the clouds heavier.
Sitting on a plastic chair,
Waiting for the bus.
Looking at the sky and the stones
Scattered around.
The mother stared on the road end,
While the daughter was bored.
She stood and ran up the hill,
And with a smile and a huff,
She ran back down.
She looked at her mother,
With a sparking glint
A challenge rose,
Molding a memory for the future’s past.
The mother stared back,
And accepted the challenge.
As their bond , about to become stronger,
I carefully watched the match.
They both held hands,
And walked up the hill,
And to the count of three,
Both ran down,
Huffing and puffing.
And leaving the dust behind.
The daughter dashed,
Quick like a fox,
Leaving her mother
Behind.
They reached down,
Huffing and puffing,
As their eyes met again,
But now with love spreading.
Their smile shined,
Before the sunrise,
And my day became better
Just by glancing at such sight.
