Just like restaurants have their rush hours and lean hours, your audience at Milyin, too, is most active at certain times of the day.
Let me say that, being an admin, I have access to the data and insights that you can only imagine.
Hello I am Aditya Agarwal, Co-Founder at Milyin and this is Becoming Creator, a new series for every Creator who wants to grow at Milyin
While Milyin is a platform built for an international audience, our audience largely comprises Indians. Our data suggests that the user activity increases at around 2 pm and remains highly active till 5 pm.
NOTE: Do you know you can schedule your Creations to automatically get published at a specified time? Stick around till the end to learn more.
But the same is not true for the Creators! Having gone through the last 200 days of data, I can assure you that most Creators are active late at night, generally after dinner times.
Naturally, when they create at night, they publish at night as well. But their audience is already asleep or not active, making it difficult to grow.
Let's take this analogy: publishing Creations at the wrong time is like working in a restaurant and preparing the ingredients after the rush hour has passed. It's too late, and even though you can cook the meal, no one will be there to buy it.
So, is publish time important?
Yes.
Publishing, when your audience is active, can ensure that a significant portion of your audience sees your Creations in their feed and engages with them.
See people discover your Creations on their home feed (usually). The home feed is biased towards recency, meaning recently published creations on topics of interest are prominently shown at home to each member.
So, as long as your creation interests the members and you publish it at the right time, their feed will prominently display your creations.
At Milyin, I have been a fan of Evergreen Creations. Rather than publishing news or Creations about trends that quickly fade away, I love it when Creators create Creations that could be enjoyed many years into the future.
That's why we try to keep promoting even older Creations, but we still try to give an extra nudge to newer creations to make sure they get attention. Essentially, we, too, are biased towards recency but not as biased as other platforms.
What is the perfect publishing time?
Short Answer - 2pm Indian Standard Time on Saturdays.
Long Answer - It depends. 2pm on Saturdays is generally our most active time in terms of active users, but that doesn't necessarily mean your own audience will be active at that time.
Intelligent Creators would analyze what their target demographic is and when they generally engage with social media to figure our the right publishing time.
For example, if your audience is American, there is no point publishing at Indian peak hours, because you are targeting elsewhere.
Same ways, stay-at-home moms generally are active at around 10-11am, gamers are active late at night, and more.
Find what would likely be the "peak" or the "rush hour" for your audience, and keep your Creations ready accordingly.
Pro Tip: Use Milyin's Creation Scheduling Option
Milyin allows you to schedule your Draft Creations to automatically get published at a specified time.
Pretty sure that most Creators are unaware of it. Let's see how to do that.
Step 1. Open New Creation or edit an existing Draft Creation by going to Member and clicking Edit on the desired Creation

Step 2: Select Status as "Future" in the Status Selector.

Step 3: Set the timings. Remember, the times here are GMT/UTC. So if you are an Indian, subtract 5 hrs 30 mins from the time when you want to publish. So, let's say if you want to publish at 2 pm, you would set 8:30 AM

Just a Suggestion
Once again, I am bound to say that what I mentioned here is just a suggestion, and you are NOT bound to follow it.
The Becoming Creator is a series that I am pursuing from my account rather than from Milyin's accounts because I want to present what I feel is best for our fellow Creators, but none of this is compulsory or necessary.
It's all suggestive and largely based on my own personal understanding.
Your Questions
As promised, I will be taking audience questions and answering them in next Monday's Becoming Creator.

Also: I would love your thoughts and suggestions on how to make this series even more valuable for our fellow Creators. The same can be shared with me on Chat or Comments, I would love to hear your thoughts!
