People especially those who don’t know you, in short not your close ones, you should never never care what they are saying about you. Don’t listen to their praises or their insults. If you do, you fall into the never-ending cycle of pleasing others.

What happens is most of the time when people like neighbors, friends families, and even our own relatives, whom we meet once a year praise us for something, and we feel really good about ourselves, and why not?

But the next day if they start talking negatively about us behind our backs we feel bad and hate them for what they said.
Some of us try to change others’ perspectives, while others start overthinking about this thing, and sometimes develop a phobia.
In these situations, you have to understand their opinions about you didn’t come from watching you but they created it among themselves. Neighbors talk among themselves, relatives talk to one another, friends go home and talk to their own families about you and whatever is decided at the end of the discussion, is their viewpoint about you.
So no matter how much you try yourself, you can never change their point of view. They may agree with you when you are in front of them but the moment you leave they will start criticizing you again.
The best option is not to take them seriously at all. And stop valuing yourself based on others’ opinions. Because the moment this opinion changes you will fall in your eyes because you will feel everyone thinks you are worthless.
But you are not.
You have to remember, you fight for yourself in this world, alone. No one helps you. You rise, you fall because of your own efforts. So don’t let others control your value.
