Amidst the woods where time’s secrets swell,

There stand the trees, with roots like iron chains,

Guardians of life, through joys and pains.

O noble sentinels of verdant grace,

Your boughs, like arms, in an embrace,

Have cradled dreams of those who roam,

A steadfast shelter, a timeless home.

Through tempests fierce and seasons' wrath,

You’ve borne the storms upon your path,

With gnarled limbs that twist and sway,

You dance with winds, come what may.

Witness to ages, your stories unfold,

Of lovers’ vows and children bold,

In your shade, the weary find rest,

A sanctuary where hearts are blessed.

Yet, how oft have you seen despair,

As man, in folly, laid his snare,

With axes raised, in greed’s cruel grip,

To fell your kind, to make them slip.
