Kathmandu to Ramechhap: The Route to Everest Flights
It's likely that you will first go from Kathmandu to Ramechhap if you're traveling to Lukla. Since the majority of Everest flights now depart from Manthali Airport in Ramechhap rather than Kathmandu, this route has grown in popularity.
By road, the trip takes 4 to 5 hours and covers around 132 km (82 miles). The trip will be pleasurable as you drive by wonderful hills, rivers, and tiny villages. In order to make their flights on schedule, most tourists depart Kathmandu early in the morning.
Reaching Ramechhap will get you closer to your Everest adventure with an easier, less dangerous flight to Lukla, despite the often rocky road.
