They wanted to win their first game at home, but the Gujarat Giants outplayed them thanks to their outstanding performance.

    RCB’s Batting Struggles

Early on in their innings, RCB encountered difficulties. Danielle Wyatt-Hodge was out shortly after hitting a significant boundary.

One of their greatest players, Ellyse Perry, struck the ball straight to a fielder and was out, resulting in a significant loss.

The skipper, Smriti Mandhana, too, struggled to score goals fast. Before being removed, she was battling with just 10 runs from 19 balls.

Kanika Ahuja and Raghvi Bist tried to put RCB back into the game by hitting some solid shots.

Bist hammered the ball over the boundary, and Ahuja smacked a six. But when Bist ran out due to an error, things went south.

RCB could not score many runs in the last overs when Ahuja was also dismissed quickly. They scored 125 runs in 20 overs to end their innings.

The Gujarat Giants Are Pursuing the Target

Gujarat Giants needed 126 runs to win. Renuka Singh of the RCB started with excellent bowling.

After firing D Hemalatha, she fired Beth Mooney, who was hazardous. Despite their excitement, the RCB needed more wickets to put an end to the Gujarat Giants.

Ashleigh Gardner entered the game and played aggressively. She hammered four fours and a six in one over after hitting her first ball for a boundary!

She kept the RCB bowlers from settling. Even though Harleen Deol got out, the Gujarat Giants were already in a great position.

Later in the contest, Richa Ghosh dropped a key catch, allowing Phoebe Litchfield a second chance. Litchfield hit two boundaries right after that.

Gardner then reached her half-century in style with two huge sixes. After scoring 58 runs, she eventually got out, but the damage had already been done. With 21 balls remaining, the Gujarat Giants easily won the game.

    Summary of the Match

    RCB's Batting:

    • Kanika Ahuja: 33 runs, 125/7 in 20 overs
    • Tanuja Kanwar: 16 runs at 2 wickets
    • Deandra Dottin: 2 wickets for 31 runs

    Gujarat Giants' Batting:

    • 126/4 in 16.3 overs
    • Ashleigh Gardner: 58 runs
    • Phoebe Litchfield: 30 runs (not out)
    • Renuka Singh: 24 runs at two wickets

    Final Thoughts!

RCB had a difficult game. Their bowlers were unable to stop Ashleigh Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield, and their batting did not perform well.

The Gujarat Giants deserved the victory since they performed better. In order to end their losing trend, RCB will now need to put in more effort. In the upcoming game, let's see if they can recover!
