In the shadowed realm of ages past,
Where the quill and parchment cast
    Mysteries deep, and secrets vast,
The olden poets spoke with trust.

Not for acclaim, nor empty praise,
Their verses sprung from heartfelt maze,
    Emotions raw, in rhythmic phrase,
Through twilight's haze, their truths ablaze.

"Thus quoth the sage in ancient lore,"

A whisper in the cosmic roar,
"Of pain and joy, our spirits bore,
Upon this parchment, let us pour."

With strokes of ink, and soul laid bare,
They wove their tales with tender care,
Of mortal plight and love's affair,
In twilight's glow, their hearts laid bare.

"Ye winds of fate, now hear our call,"
They scribbled 'neath the castle wall,
"Reveal the truths that rise and fall,
Within our hearts, within us all."

The world they penned in hues of night,
With shadows deep and flickering light,
A realm where dreams took sudden flight,
And echoed through the endless night.

For these olden bards, in twilight's grasp,
Held no facade within their clasp,
Their words like stars in heavens vast,
Forever etched, in time, they last.

So let us heed their ancient cries,
    Beneath the moonlit, star-strewn skies,
Where truth and verse entwine and rise,
    And poets' souls immortalize.
