To succeed as a business one needs a great product/service and great marketing/reach.

The last 1 year had been about redoing the product. It's time for Milyin to switch gears and focus more on reaching more people. Being a platform, we need to do 2 things to improve reach:

    1. Audience Growth: Getting more eyes sticking to the Creations at Milyin | This will help boost revenue for existing Creators.
    2. Creator Growth: Bringing more Creators in Milyin for network effect.

We believe we have a good product ready, and our focus can finally move towards reach, which will be critical for audience growth.

    Audience Reach

SEO upgrades have been effective in improving audience reach in the last few weeks.

But, even seasoned Creators at Milyin are not really using every arrow in their quiver.

Chances are that you have already seen our announcement for this year's Creator Summit. Ideally, we want to have 1 summit every quarter of 2025.

The feedback would be bidirectional, but rather than product-level ideas, we will be discussing what Creators can do in terms of their social outreach.

Later in this Creation, I will touch upon our plans to redo social media. In that, we will also be implementing Creator Diaries, Editor's Picks, and sharing noteworthy Creations. Well, I am getting ahead of myself, let's stop at this for now.

    Creator Reach

To get more Creators and keep existing Creators hooked, our team will be publishing Creations with beginner-friendly guidance and tips on @milyincreators.

Our goal is to make the page of @milyincreators more interactive and engaging. Plus, the Creations we publish would hopefully set the benchmark for other Creators to follow — lead by example.

That was about engaging existing Creators, what about gaining new Creators? We plan to reactivate our dormant social media accounts. Truth be told, after having failed multiple times, the morale is low. But, we would start hiring for a dedicated social media professional. Send me a message if you believe you are a good fit. An official announcement will be coming up soon.

Although the good product and good marketing recipe for success is popular, it is (in my opinion) a bit too abstract. Reality is a bit more nuanced than that, we would be focusing on overall user sentiment as well. Also, we are not just a product, we are a service as well, let's discuss other aspects of Milyin that will be changing.

    Process Improvements

The long delays in earnings claims are not exactly motivating. It shouldn't take that long. I used to batch process the claims, once we had more than 10 claims.

But, that's going to change. On a trial basis, I am starting 24-hour payment cycles, hopefully it works well.

The Duplicate Creations checking process has also seen massive improvements that have resulted in a lesser number of false positives. We will keep improving on that.

Our team also painstakingly went through every Creation ever published at Milyin to re-evaluate and see if it needed to be removed.

    Product Changes

Just because we are shifting our focus towards reach, doesn't mean we are abandoning the development. It will still remain in our peripheral vision.

Our team generally follows a quarterly development cycle. So all plans, ideas, and developments are deployed in 1st month of the quarter and then there optimization, bug fixing, improvements, etc. go on for the next 2 months.

After having an extra aggressive January, we are skipping April. Our next development cycle would be from June end. (That's all I will share for now). This means no major changes/developments untill then.

Still, there are 2 things that are already being built and will be pushed when ready. These include improvements to the creation interface and badges for members based on milestones.

    Transparency

For a social company, we are awfully private about our plans, upcoming changes, and new releases. Many changes go under the radar altogether.

I promise to keep greater transparency. Let me be honest, being a private person, I am quite nervous sharing upcoming plans like Creation Interface changes and Badges, but it is important.

Our creators deserve to know better, so I would publish regular updates, plans, and justifications. If you don't follow me already on Milyin, now would be a good time.

    That's It

That's it, fellow members; I did something I have always felt nervous doing - sharing my current and future plans for Milyin.

In addition, we will be starting a series called Creator Dairies, wherein we will be publishing the life stories of some of our top Creators to help them get to know one another better.
