There is a phrase going on a lot these days.
I have a few questions regarding this phrase. The questions are
Is it possible for people to love each other for as long as they live?
And does love stay the same for our entire lives?
Is it easy to find these people?
Answers for all of the above questions are NO.
Simply because people change.
And with their changing personality, their feelings change too. At least I have never seen anyone who can love us for an indefinite period of time.
What happens with me is, I meet someone. We both like one another, and something has developed between us. Which only lasts about a couple of months and then everything stops.
Everything slowly starts to get boring when we get to know a person more deeply. And somehow that makes people lose interest.
I frankly don’t understand why. As people, we are like an ocean with many floors. I find it very adventurous and intriguing to explore those floors. Because in the end, when we are confident we know someone, we find out we still don’t know them and they can still surprise us.
But I guess others don’t share this mindset. Especially when they have so many options around them.
Even the people who last longer than a couple of months lose the spark in the connection and stop connecting like before. In the beginning, everything feels like it will last an eternity, but that is just an illusion.
After a few disappointments and heartbreak, you are forcefully exposed to the truth. Which is, we are on our own.
Moreover, we should never forget people are driven by motives and hidden agendas.
A person who loves you deeply today can and will backstab you the very next day if they can gain something from it. And it applies to anyone. Even your dearest of friends. Of course, the gain has to be a lot higher for them to betray you.
So surround yourself with people but don’t hope that they are with you because they love you. Because they aren’t!
They are with you because of some benefit and when they extract it from you. They will throw you away harder than we through trash out.
And if you want to surround yourself with creatures that love you. Then adopt a dog or cat. These creatures are more loyal to you compared to humans. And their love towards you is genuine because they have nothing to expect from you. Except for food and water, and a little bit of love. And that won’t be a problem if you are a decent human.
We should remember that in the end we came into this world alone, and we will leave this world alone. So rather than entertaining ourselves with the fantasies of people, eternal love and being together forever.
We should just learn to survive on our own.
Because there will come a time when you have to face the world alone.
