As I finished my coffee, a sudden thought crossed my mind. I started thinking about how often we have the opportunity to help someone in need, but we choose not to. It could be with money, time, or even emotional support. We make excuses and let others suffer when we have the ability to make a difference. I started asking myself, "Why do we hesitate? Why do we turn our backs when God gives us a chance to help?"
Out of curiosity, I did a quick search to see if there was a Bible verse connected to it and I found one:
This bible verse hit me hard. It was a reminder that when we have the power to help, we must act. If we don't, we are failing to obey God's will. We're missing the purpose He's set out for us.
WHY WE CANNOT IGNORE THIS
1. GOD WILL FIND SOMEONE ELSE When we refuse to help, "God will not wait for us". He will find someone else to fulfill His purpose. We lose our chance to be a part of something bigger.
2. WE MIGHT NEED HELP TOO We can't expect to get help when we need it if we never offer it to others. If we shut off our hearts to others' needs, don't be surprised when we're left without help in our time of need.
3. WE WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE God will judge us for the opportunities He gave us to act. We will not escape the consequences for ignoring His call. When we have the ability to help and choose not to, we will be held responsible for that decision.
FINAL THOUGHTS
As I reflect on this, it becomes clear to me how much this world has changed. It's full of competition. Everyone is out for themselves, fighting for what they want, and many of us don't even notice when someone is in need. But we can't be like the world. If we see a chance to help, we must take it. This isn't about competition. This is about serving God's purpose.
When we help, we are aligning ourselves with His will. But when we ignore His call, we are turning away from His plan for our lives.
