    Cats have been an integral part of human life for thousands of years, captivating us with their mysterious behavior, graceful agility, and independent spirit.     A Historical Bond

    The domestication of cats is believed to have begun around 9,000 years ago in the Near East, coinciding with the advent of agriculture. As humans settled and started storing surplus grain, they inadvertently attracted rodents. Wildcats, ancestors of today’s domestic cats, were drawn to these human settlements by the abundance of prey. Over time, a mutually beneficial relationship developed; cats kept the rodent population in check while humans provided a steady food source.

    In ancient Egypt, cats were revered and even worshipped. The goddess Bastet, often depicted as a lioness or a woman with the head of a lioness or domestic cat, symbolized home, fertility, and protection. Egyptians took their reverence seriously, to the extent that harming a cat was considered a grave offense.
