DAY 4 OF MY FILS CHALLENGE JOURNEY: THE TEST OF WILLPOWER CONTINUES
Today is January 24, 2025, and I quickly checked my Al Salam Bank account to see my progress. From my first deduction of 0.100 fils, my savings have now reached 1.000 BHD!
Here's what that looks like in different currencies:
* 154.82 Philippine Pesos
* 2.65 US Dollars
* 215.00 Indian Rupees

It's still a small amount, but for me, it's a promising start. This is only the beginning, and I'm curious to see how far I can go.
MY OBSERVATIONS SO FAR:
1. THERE'S STILL A LONG WAY TO GO: I've completed four days, but there are still 362 days left in this challenge. It feels like a long road ahead, but taking it day by day makes it easier to handle.
2. BIGGER AMOUNTS AHEAD: Tomorrow, the deduction will increase to 0.500 fils. It's still manageable for now, but I know the amounts will continue to grow.
3. CAREFUL SPENDING IS A MUST: I'm very mindful of my expenses now. Since the daily deductions will keep increasing, I need to make sure my account always has enough balance to avoid interruptions.
4. NO PENALTIES FOR INSUFFICIENT FUNDS: What I like about this challenge is that if my savings account runs out of funds and there's not enough to deduct, the deductions will simply pause temporarily. The best part is, there are no penalties, and I won't lose any of the savings I've already accumulated. The deductions will only resume once I have enough funds in my account based on the set amount for the next deduction. This gives me peace of mind while I focus on keeping my account balanced and avoiding any interruptions.

5. AVOIDING SKIPPED DAYS: I want to complete this challenge without missing a single day. I know it's going to get tougher, but I'm determined to keep it going.
6. THINKING AHEAD: I'm already visualizing how far I can go without any interruptions. This means I need to be consistent with keeping my account funded.
7. EXPLORING SIDE INCOME OPPORTUNITIES: Since my primary source of income comes from my husband's monthly allowance, I've been thinking about ways to boost my savings. I'm seriously considering online side hustles as a way to earn a little extra. This could help me build up a stronger financial foundation, especially while the deductions are still relatively small, so I can continue with the Fils Challenge without any interruptions.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Day 4 has been a bit of a reality check for me. The road ahead is still long, and the challenge will only get tougher as the amounts increase. But I'm feeling hopeful. The important thing is to stay disciplined, keep my account funded, and avoid skipping any days. I'll take it one step at a time, and I know that if I keep pushing forward, I'll see the results by the end of the challenge. I'm also thinking about ways to earn extra income so that I can keep the balance in my savings account steady. Overall, I'm excited about this journey and looking forward to the progress I'll make!
