    War.

A word so powerful it could make you topple,

A term so foreboding it could make you tremble.

An expression so unnerving it could make you palpitate.

    War.

War has nothing but bloodshed, combat, massacre and murder.

    It crushes souls,

    it destroys hope,

and it wrecks families like it's nothing.

There are 8 billion people around the globe.

    A few families die.

Who cares? Who'll cry over the loss?

    No one.

    War.

    Gunshots flying here and there,

sounds of explosions and war cries fill the air,

raining missiles and bombs killing innocent people,

    children sent to foster homes,

most of them seeing their parents for the last time.

Soldiers lay on the ground, smiling, proud to contribute.

War makes Earth cry tears of blood.

    War.

    It affects people's minds,

it pushes them to the edge of sanity,

they plead, pray and beg god to end the war,

    and when god doesn't listen,

    they end themselves.

    War.

    The war is now over,

the sky is dark and severed limbs are floating in the bloody river,

one can still hear the echo of the gunshots,

    constructions have broken,

no one wants to come out,

    the birds have stopped singing,

    there is complete silence.

    Was it worth it?

    Worth all the lives?

    Worth all the pain?

    Worth all the suffering?

    No

Isn't it funny that we could have avoided all these deaths, pain, and suffering had we known how to listen?
