Hello all, thanks a lot for taking the time to see my article.
Stress is a common issue being faced by almost everyone and it gradually becomes a crucial part of our lives, with its degree of impact being very different and subjective. Everyone faces different kinds of challenges in their lives and this creates a categorical difference in the way people view stress. If not managed properly, stress can lead to various other issues like constant overthinking, continuous feelings of fear and other kinds of aspects that could impact the overall mental health. Stress can overpower our minds to such an extent that we actually might start to trust all of its tricks without any further questioning from our end.
I have always heard people saying like don’t take stress or don’t overthink, but I often find myself thinking if that can actually help someone immediately. Many times, we want an instant distraction from a stressor and this makes me wonder if there is any way to counter this ongoing spiral and adjust the lens to the way we think about stress. We can probably try to assign a different name to this stressor (we can think of this as that person who we have never wanted to interact with during our school days) and keep ourselves guarded whenever it tries to cross our path of mental peace.
Stress can time travel from past to present and might also try to predict the future, so the important task here is to get hold of it at the start. When the stress begins to trouble us, the first thing is to get some safe space or immediate distraction. Post that, we can try to calmly review if there is any realistic analysis based on the available facts to gauge its relevance today in our lives.
We can also create a simulation exercise, where we can try to talk to the stressor as a real person and try to set a healthy boundary for our mental health. If we are the most comfortable by our own self then we can try to write down the stressful thoughts and create an action plan on how best could we handle the controllable parts of that stressor, in the given present scenario.
Listening to a favorite piece of music and dancing to its beats, these techniques could also help in minimizing stress to some extent. Going to our favorite restaurant could be another way to cope with the stressful situation. Further, going for a mindful walk without any distractions could also help us to enhance our self-awareness and address the issue at a deeper level. Playing our favorite sports could also minimize stress levels and increase overall motivation. Working towards our self-awareness will also help to identify the main causes of the stress occurring at the first place.
I think challenging stress is surely possible by finding motivation on a gradual basis. However, the degree to which we can challenge stress is very subjective for everyone and it would vary from time to time. We might not be in a position to challenge it in the same way each day. Hence, different motivational techniques could be utilized in combination depending on its intensity and impact. I think the main crucial aspect is to add some creativity to this process of challenging stress so that we can create a unique coping mechanism for our own self each time we face stress. This will also help in enhancing our overall motivation level and we might also start seeing this as our new achievement.
Thank you so much for your time, I will be catching up soon. Wishing you a great day ahead.
