Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who was born on February 19, 1630, is hailed as the greatest king of India and the founder of the Maratha Empire. The tale of his life contains a truly legendary saga of valor and invention combined with leadership that bears success imprint upon Indian history.

All born to Shahaji Bhonsle and Jijabai from the Bhonsle clan, Shivaji actually came into this world near Shivneri Fort, Maharashtra. Very early in life, already he had a higher dose of leadership quality and was not only very keen but also actively interested in military tactics. His mother-in-dream-Ijijabai internalized virtually the whole value system of Shibu and imbued him with healthier ideas about justice and ethics. His acquirers soon turned to training from the council of teachers by Dadoji Konddev and learned martial arts, military strategies, and the very things that would form the shine upon his reign.

    Rise to Power

The ascendancy was achieved by capturing key forts like Torna and Chakan from Bijapur Sultanate. Outmaneuvered larger armies through guerrilla warfare tactics. In 1674, he crowned himself Chhatrapati (Emperor) at Raigad Fort, creating the formal establishment of Maratha Kingdom. And that whole event was not only for Shivaji lord but for the whole regional politics in India since it was against the Mughal sway.
