Imagination-wise, college life was meant to be similar to a movie.
An unrestricted existence, free from parental guidance, without norms to obey, and without concerns about attendance, homework, or academics. A life to enjoy, with friends everywhere, traveling, experiencing the city, going to parties, forming bonds, etc.
However, reality is actually far distant from one's imagined fantasy. Reality is really different. When you are traveling alone and a bus is designated for pick-up and drop-off during the entire school day, Realizing that you're in a new city with unfamiliar streets and people. It's a difficult but worthwhile journey to become self-sufficient.
From cooking to grocery shopping to laundry, you realize how much of a significant task we have taken for granted at home. You must begin small, get to know the city, establish a space of your own, make safe connections, observe everything, and refrain from indulging in unnecessary things.
Neither recognized nor valued. The combination of independent college life and interacting with others to do daily tasks makes you grasp how harsh people can be, which is how you come to understand that adulting is both rewarding and challenging.
College life is more than simply getting dressed up and hanging out at the café; it's also about attending classes 9–5, writing practicals, creating diagrams, and keeping a 75% attendance rate.
So, sure, I have been awakening, appreciating, and becoming independent during my time at college.
