strewn in pale tawny dirt
sauve loo smooch sad summer noon in shunned silence of ennui
and sings the secret of ecstasy
to the pliant maroon boughs
fluttering with fruit flowers.
the lemon sun leaks through the groves of lush green cluster
and scatter over the cheeks of dirt
drenched in dapple and peony pink petals of dried poppy
like the hot sap of overriped mangoes
swaying above.
perennials shiver under the superfluous sky
adorned with crumbs of roseate cotton cloud
from where a nightingale pray in saccharine sorrow to heaven.
for her dove,
strangled in the stream of chimney fire
