If a devil tells you a story where a died, would you believe it?
Societal norms label villains, and heroes based on their deeds in the story. What we often forget is to look at backstage, the past where all the chaos happened.
In today’s time, there are two types of heroes, one who saves the world for the sake of saving and one who tells the world “I saved”.
Let me share with you a short story about this.
A strange, mysterious dark man used to live on the outskirts of the city. He used to steal people’s belongings for bread and butter. He cheated on several women in the city for his benefit and joy. Police were in search of him. Perhaps he was unidentified.
Society labeled him as “The Devil”
On one bright day, a strange lady with sophisticated looks, brown eyes, fair skin, and golden-colored hair murders the Prince of the City with despair.
The city trembled with a horrific incident and the devil, too. For reasons he can’t quite understand himself, he feels compelled to uncover the truth. Maybe it’s a flicker of conscience, or maybe he’s tired of being seen as nothing but a villain. Driven by a need to prove something — to society or perhaps just to himself — he starts looking into the crime on his own. Perhaps the devil got to know the truth about murder.
As he followed the clues he got to know that something terrible, the charming lady was the “stepdaughter of the brother of the King”. The reason she murdered was just to retain the throne of his father as she was the only blood remaining of her father.
Devil immediately told the police officers about that lady perhaps in a world of fairness who would listen to the brown!
“Justice delayed is justice denied”, the devil in the rage for justice, to change his identity and to prove himself a hero, murdered that lady. The murder of the royal blood for royal blood, whom to outrage?
Unfortunately, his actions came at a cost. Upon discovering the lady’s body, people immediately point the blame at the devil. Society, already convinced of his guilt by years of rumor, refuses to see beyond their biases. His protests fall on deaf ears, and the royal family, enraged by the loss of two of their own, demands a swift execution.
Subsequently, the king ordered a public death sentence for the devil. Justice spread in the eyes of the people as the devil died in front of them. People labeled the police and royal families as heroes who brought justice in those dark times.
~ People tend to believe what they are told!
In the end, no one questions the real villain — the ambitious lady and the blindness of society. As the devil died, truth died with him. A layer of lie erupted yet no one protested.
~ “The villain will always be a villain if a hero tells you the story.”
